South Holston School
August 4th, 5th, and 6th, 2006

          Hunter Banks is offering a fly-fishing instructional weekend on the South Holston River in Tennessee during August 4 – 6, 2006. This is for the intermediate fisherman and the instruction will concentrate on the technical fishery and the skills needed to catch fish on the South Holston.
          Plan to arrive in the afternoon of the 4th at River’s Way. Get directions form Shane Buckner. Lodging will be at the lodge at River’s Way. You will be fishing their private stretch of the river plus other areas your instructor will recommend. Meals will be provided for Friday dinner through Sunday lunch. Wine will be supplied withal dinners but liquor must be brought with you. River’s Way supplies beds with mattresses however you will need to bring your own pillows, towels, and sleeping bags or linens and blankets.
          Informal fishing will be available Friday evening until dark. Formal instruction will be all day Saturday and Sunday morning. You can continue to fish Sunday afternoon as late as you wish, however the lodge must be vacated by 2 PM for cleaning.
          Instruction will cover techniques for attain a drag-free drift, accurate fly selection, learning the nuances of the South Holston River, as well as polishing your casting skills. Your instructor will supply a limited number of flies. You should check with Shane Buckner for others. The instruction time will be a full or half day, depending on hatch activity and generation schedules.
          Cost for the weekend is $395 including lodging, meals, and instruction (which will be limited to 2 anglers per instructor, maximum of 6 anglers total). A $100 deposit will guarantee a spot on one of our most popular trip. Gratuity for your instructor is not included but greatly appreciated.
